This past week, the entire EDM community was shaken to the core as Datsik, founder Firepower Records and one the modern pioneers Dubstep, was bombarded with numerous allegations sexual assault and harassment against women throughout the years. As news quickly spread, Datsik was promptly dropped from not only his record label, but from all other billed events and festivals throughout the summer, including Electric Forest and the rest his Ninja Nation Tour.
Yesterday, it was announced by Electric Forest HQ that iconic Dj and Producer Jauz would be taking over the Datsik set at Electric Forest, extending his stay at the festival to both weekends, as opposed to his original Weekend 1 only slot. Jauz then took to twitter to announce the news himself, as well as fer his thoughts on the situation throughout a series tweets.
“What we all should be focusing on is providing awareness, love and support as a community to anyone who is affected in this situation,” he said in a statement on Twitter. “We should be proving that electronic music is really a home for people to feel safe and free to be themselves.”
You can find the original tweets on his announcements below, and make sure to catch Jauz in the Forest, performing both weekends!
