Arc Raiders has had a thunderous launch on PC and console and players are hopping in and getting aquainted with the game’s challenging and deadly battles topside after leaving Speranza. But, before you leave, you have the option to play solo and if you do the game has a unique matchmaking system to pair solo players together.
Here is a rundown of how to solo queue and how it works in Arc Raiders.
To solo queue in Arc Raiders you need to turn “Fill Squad” off on the menu before you hit play. If you turn this off, and are alone in a party you will load into a solo game. Arc Raiders tries to keep solo players together in their own instances topside, rather than mixing groups and solo players in order to keep the game as fair as possible.
This is quite unique for an extraction shooter but means that there are more opportunities for unique moments in solo-focused matches, such as players teaming up, more betrayals, or more exciting team fights against the Arc Robots as they swarm you.

Beyond solo queue, there aren’t any other solo-focused modes for the game just yet, but we will be sure to update this article if Embark’s plans change when it comes to how you can play the game.
