Day 4 of Glastonbury 2024 (Saturday, June 29) has come to a close – from Coldplay’s record-breaking headline set to Kasabian’s secret show at Woodsies, these are the biggest headlines from the day.
The Last Dinner Party play two unreleased songs, speak on UK general election
Baroque-pop band – and NME Cover stars – The Last Dinner Party played two unreleased songs, ‘Second Best’ and ‘The Killer’, to a packed-out audience at the Other Stage (that included Furiosa star Anya Taylor-Joy and model-actress Cara Delevingne).
Before playing their breakout debut single ‘Nothing Matters’, lead vocalist Abigail Morris addressed the upcoming UK general election on July 4, asking voters to “protect each other and just having some fucking empathy”.
Kasabian confirm secret set at Woodsies
After weeks of persistent rumours of a Kasabian secret set at Glastonbury, the Leicester band finally confirmed Saturday afternoon that they would perform at Woodsies at 6pm.
In an interview with NME before the set – which was so crowded that fans were turned away – frontman Serge Pizzorno promised “a powerful hour”. “We’re trying to cram in as much as can,” he added. “We’ve got a couple of new tracks that are working so well live, it’s ridiculous. We’re getting in and getting out.”
