Full of twists and turns, the Fyre Fest saga continues with yet another curveball we did not see coming. Billy McFarland‘s Fyre Fest is now up for auction on eBay after a 7-digit deal fell through. Since last week, McFarland has been uploading updates on the brand as he struggles to pay back $26 million he owes. And in the end, Billy McFarland reveals himself to be just another one of those idiots pushing “coaching” sessions on Instagram.
eBay Auction
Fyre Fest has consistently failed to thrive. Despite multiple attempts to make the event happen, it appears that the brand is just an idea and lacks any value worth licensing. However, Billy McFarland continues to push his dreams upon us. Now, the brand is up for auction on eBay.
Recently, Billy announced that a 7-digit deal to sell the IP of Fyre Fest fell through. Nevertheless, he came up with another idea. The brand went up for auction this tuesday starting at $0.1. According to McFarland, the highest bid is up to $200,000 and counting. The best part here is that now he’s offering marketing consulting sessions if people guess the highest bid for the brand. We all know the Instagram “coaches” that act rich while seemingly doing nothing and ripping off unsuspecting victims. Billy McFarland is literally just another one of those, and once you see that it all makes sense.
More playfully, Billy is also auctioning a sparring match with him, as he claims the price became too high for the main auction. So if you want a chance at punching the man behind Fyre Fest, this is your chance.
Fyre Pop-Ups
Just before the eBay action took place, Fyre Fest stated that instead of creating an ambitiously big festival, the brand would host a pop-up this September in Utila in the Bay Islands of Honduras. Moreover, McFarland announced multiple official hosts for the week-long event, including multiple travel content creators and influencers.
As we wait for the results of the auction, we can’t help but wonder what the future holds for this enigmatic and chaotic brand.
