Phoenix Lights
5 met all our coveted desires, hopes and dreams, all while snagging the number one spot in our hearts as the best Relentless Beats event of all time. From setup to lineup life was great and yes, dads were raging like it was the summer of ’69.Living our best lives at Pheonix Lights 2019.
The setup of the festival was beautifully laced to accommodate our imbibed souls. The setup felt open and free which gave us more than enough room for dance floor shenanigans. Although the Mothership Stage followed a more traditional and familiar format, eyes turned to hearts over the newly improved Colony and Invasion Stages. Let me tell you, it was a vibe. Additional décor that heated things up (literally) were the fire shooting UFO and the mini DJ stage fused with an aged truck.
Even if you didn’t collect enough Pollen points to receive meet and greets, you still had a solid opportunity to take pictures with your favorite artists. San Holo weaved in and out of the crowd during Griz’s set, Kaskade was front and center of Claude VonStroke’s after party, and Vanic came a day early to check out friends like Arty perform.
Day 1 rattled the cage
Although our eyes were glued on the decked out features, our spirits belonged to the only thing that really matter- the music. Vanic teased his new single ‘Forever Down’ and Griz brought onstage fabulous vocals. There was no saxophone duel between Griz and Big Gigantic, but San Holo demonstrated the most genuine act of kindness by giving away his guitar.
Phoenix Lights exceeded our expectations making it super hard to picture anything else that could be better, but we know next year will. Somehow someway Relentless Beats will find a way to expand the PHXL experience that much more. We hope you all enjoyed your weekend, now go home and rejuvenate your bodies!
