The case comes close to the heels of Calvin Harris’ initiating legal action against the same individual
Another scandal that has made heads turn! And a familiar name that has made the headlines again for all the wrong reasons! Thomas St. John has found himself in the middle of the center of a storm, yet again. Barely a couple of months after Calvin Harris alleged the financial advisor of fraud to the tune of $22.5 million for real estate projects for more than a decade, another big name has gone to court against the same individual. This time, it is none other than Swedish dance music icon Eric Prydz.
It is alleged that Prydz’s manager discovered that St. John had paid himself $219,000 for services “he was never authorized to perform“. After signing a new agreement in 2023, Prydz’ complaint says St. John commenced paying himself for unapproved work without notifying the artist or his team. Consequently, Prydz’s manager had their working contract with St. John terminated. St John, with whom Prydz has worked since 2012, committed “in writing” to complete a final tax return for Prydz.

According to the complaint, St. John demanded payment of $150,000 for “unapproved, out of scope” services before filing the return. Described as ‘extortion’ in the complaint, Prydz never made the payment leading to the return being never filed. “As a direct result of [St. John’s] malicious conduct to hold Prydz’s financial documents hostage, Prydz has been unable to complete and file the now past due tax forms,” complaint states. It also declares that St. John took out $50,000 without authorization from the dance music legend’s bank accounts once he was informed of the contract termination.
Prydz is claiming repayment of the losses along with punitive damages and legal fees. We will update this topic as soon as more information comes out.
