Earlier this year, Elephante spoke with us about some recent changes in his sound that he had been focusing on. “I’ve really turned back and looked at all the influences that have gotten me to where I am” he stated. “With dance music, the biggest challenge is really finding your own sound and being unique and having a unique perspective. Everyone is trying to copy the latest trend, whether it’s future bass or trop house. For me what makes my perspective, my angle, unique is I started going back and listening to all the old music from when I was younger.”

Elephante’s recent release, “Diamond Days”, is a glimpse of that change. The track gives off warm synths, hypnotic harmonies, and starry-eyed vocals performed by the man himself. Elephante reflected on the inspiration behind “Diamond Days” in a recent statement. “To me, the song is about looking back and letting go. Even as I’ve had more success in my career, I realized that I’m still hung up on mistakes I’ve made in some relationships and regrets I have from when I was younger. I still want to go back and replay it all and show younger me how to not blow it. The song is a bit like therapy for me. It’s almost like plugging into a time machine, going back into all of those regrets, polishing them up, and doing it right this time.”
