Edu Schwartz has been on an absolute tear over the past few years, and his latest release, which recently dropped on David Holmes’ “Where the Heart Is” Records, continues this momentum. It shows that all systems are go and full steam ahead for this Brazilian producer. “With Me” is a much more club-friendly, groove-oriented track than many of Edu’s previous releases.
As his career grows, the stages he’s playing on are much bigger, and the music he’s making adapts to that more energetic time slot and place in his career. While much of his music is usually very ethereal and haunting with soaring vocals, “With Me” features darker, drier, punchier vocals that really carry the tune. Underneath is a syncopated, bobbing bass line and a repetitive melody that locks you into the groove.
This is far from Edu Schwartz’s debut release on “Where the Heart Is,” as he had a smash EP, “Open Heart,” which dropped just a few months ago. The EP included the song “A Poem for Every Day of the Year,” which had an even more wildly successful remix by his good friend and frequent production partner, Riguni. Both the original songs and the remix were smash hits.
“With Me” continues this success, further building Edu Schwartz’s career and the profile and industry acclaim of Where the Heart Is Records. Edu Schwartz has already been releasing on some of the best underground labels in the melodic house and progressive scenes, including Circle of Life, Words Not Enough, The Purr, Roaming Leaves, and many more. This release is a fantastic addition to the Brazilian artist’s catalog.
