Handle the heat all summer with the household appliance mogul Dyson’s first-ever portable fan. Mashable News covered Dyson’s newest release, the HushJet Mini Cool. Available now, the new portable fan has a retail price of $99, making it a strong competitor to the earlier Shark ChillPill release from one of Dyson’s rival brands.

Perks

According to Senior Shopping Reporter Haley Henschel, the HushJet Mini Cool weighs under half a pound, and it’s as small as 1.5 inches in diameter. The size of the new fan compares to a skinny Supersonic hair dryer and a PencilVac stick vacuum. Moreover, the fan has five speeds and a “boost mode” for extra cooling. The fan can last up to six hours of nonstop fanning at the slowest speed. Lastly, it takes it about 3 hours to charge fully.

Mashable also expressed that the fan reaches up to 65,000 RPMS, ten times more than other fans that Mashable staff has vetted. The design of the HushJet Mini Cool is meant to stay at a reasonable noise as well. Per a Dyson’s press release, the fan gets as loud as a fridge, and at its loudest, it reaches 72.5 dBA (A-weighted decibels), slightly less loud than a Supersonic hair dryer. Furthermore, the portable fan comes with a charging stand, a USB-C cable, a travel pouch, and a lanyard.

The company has been toying with the idea of removing blades from production, as it showed with its first bladeless fan in 2009. Per Chief Engineer Jake Dyson, airflow has been at the forefront of Dyson’s ideals, and the new portable fan is the epitome of it all.
