Vaping, dabbing, and e-rigs and the culture behind it has come a long way in the last fifteen years that I have been enjoying cannabis and all of its effects. Seeing the vast improvements in technology and what it can do for the products being released to market these days is wild; intuitive, in-depth, complex temperature controls, compact rigs, all-in-one devices, modular e-rigs—all of the above is really mind-blowing.
But with that comes a lot of new players in the game, a lot of new brands all trying to carve out their piece of an ever-growing market share in the dabbing and e-rig communities.
And with that, well, it turns out that not all of them are worth the often high price tags that come with these rigs. So, I wanted to do a full and in-depth review of Dr. Dabber’s XS Portable e-rig and see how it measures up to some of the others I’ve tried. There’s a lot to like about this e-rig, but there are also some things that gave me a little bit of pause, and we will be covering everything you need to know about it in this comprehensive and deep dive Dr. Dabber XS review.
So, let’s get to it.
What Is The Dr. Dabber XS?

The Dr. Dabber XS is the latest advancement in e-rig technology, offering Dr. Dabber’s smallest and most portable design. Despite its compact size, it provides the power and temperature stability expected from larger vaporizers. This mini dab rig is designed for convenience and portability, making it easy to take anywhere.
The XS features spill-proof glassware, a convenient filling tool, and a carb cap leash, making it a reliable travel companion. It utilizes patented heating technology with four temperature settings (475°, 525°, 575°, 625°), ensuring satisfaction for any user. The e-rig heats up in 9-12 seconds and can handle up to 35 heating cycles on a single charge. It charges fully in 30-60 minutes with a USB-C pass-through cable.
Designed for simplicity, the XS includes a direct flavor pathway and a newly designed quartz heating dish. It is easy to fill, load, and use. The e-rig is compact, with a height of 6.47 inches, a diameter of 1.82 inches, and a weight of 9.4 ounces. It comes with a one-year battery, charger, and electrical components warranty.
Dr. Dabber XS Review – What I Loved
It’s Got All You Need

The first thing that caught my eye when I unboxed the Dr. Dabber XS Portable E-Rig was the small bundle of accessories that it comes with. Sure, it’s a small detail, but having a couple of cleaning supplies right out of the box is a good quality-of-life inclusion. You’re set for at least the first few weeks of using this rig without going to your local vape or smoke shop to pick up more cleaning supplies.
Also, let’s be honest: if you buy an e-rig at this price point, you already have a handful of different cleaning devices and tools like pipe cleaners. Regardless, it’s nice that they included a small bundle of cleaning accessories right in the box so that you don’t need to worry about the device getting gunky or dirty, which, of course, will affect the flavor and smoothness of the hits.
Great Range Of Temps
I loved the wide range of temperatures this Dr. Dabber XS e-rig can adjust to, with a spread ranging over 150 degrees going from medium heat to fairly high-intensity options. This gives you a lot of flexibility for your hits’ intensity, smoothness, and overall potency.
I will admit that the Dr. Dabber XS doesn’t cater to the massive clouds that the bigger, more robust vapes can help with. But it doesn’t try to do that; the Dr. Dabber XS is obviously designed for more casual, laid-back smoking sessions. But, of course, just looking at its size and the other products on Dr. Dabber’s market offer, it’s no secret that the XS is catering specifically to this market. I think with that in mind, it does its job well and offers a fantastic portable e-rig for those looking for a portable, albeit not too discreet, but casual smoking session.
It’s Amazing For Casual Sessions

I hinted at this in the above section about how it’s not that discreet, but I don’t think it tries to be. If you’re looking for that, there are really discreet pens and more dedicated options.
This is much more for being at home, casual, relaxed smoking sessions.
One thing that really plays into that is the water bubbler section. It adds a lot to the smoothness of the hits as the vapor goes through the water, cleansing it in the classic bong-style water filtration. What I like about it is that it’s spill-free glassware, so you won’t get droplets of water all over your table if you accidentally knock it over. While the whole water factor adds another layer, which I’ll talk about in the next bigger section of this article, it offers smooth, clean hits that you can rest safely knowing won’t cause a mess.
What I Wasn’t Crazy About
Now, let’s move on to the arguably less fun portion of this review, where we’ll discuss some things that I wasn’t too impressed with about the Dr. Dabber XS e-rig.
Delicate Internals

With almost any water filtration system, especially with e-rigs on a smaller scale like this, you will have delicate internals, small pipes, and carriers made of smaller pieces of glass. The thin, fragile glass is beautiful to look at with this piece. While I haven’t damaged it in the past couple of months of getting familiar with it for this review, the glass doesn’t feel as sturdy as some of the thicker glass vape e-rigs I’ve used from companies like Sünder Glass, which have dense glass bodies to cover and protect the more delicate pipes and internals from damage if they’re knocked over.
So sure, the XS has remained unscathed in my own home and studio, it still doesn’t give the perception of durability. You just have to tread lightly with it, or at least don’t be as careless as we all used to be with our $20 bongs back in college that we seemed to break biweekly, but maybe that’s overly anecdotal evidence!
Who Is The Dr. Dabber XS For?

So, now let’s move on to who this e-rig is perfect for. Normally, I try to give a handful of different options for who the ideal customer may be for a product like this, but really, the target market for the Dr. Dabber XS e-rig, in my opinion, is one person.
Let’s talk about who this person might be, and I think it’s most important to describe who this is for by explaining what this product is not. This thing is not an all-powerful workhorse vape that you can take the most giant dabs of your life with and that will send you to the moon. This is not a multi-pound device that can spit out massive clouds and everything like that.
It is an approachable, user-friendly, accessible, portable vape rig that is way more affordable than many similar vapes on the market.
Sure, the delicate glass may not make it perfect for sneaking into concerts or hitting the bus for a quick hit while you come home from work. However, it can be taken with you on camping trips, brought to a friend’s house, or used in laid-back, albeit still on-the-move situations.
Especially for the price, it’s super approachable, even in a fairly competitive marketplace of portable vape rigs. So, if that sounds like you—if you need an un-intimidating, super-accessible vape rig that won’t break the budget and won’t take up a ton of room in your closet or smoking kit—this is a fantastic option.
