Distant Dancefloors: COVID-19 and the Electronic Music Industry is a new documentary from Pioneer DJ.

The documentary features the likes of Honey Dijon, Eats Everything, Luciano, Blond:ish and more, with them discussing what the future holds for the electronic music industry due to COVID-19.

The 32-minute film explores how the pandemic has affected the electronic music industry, from venues having to close and gigs getting cancelled to how it has adapted in the last few months. There is also parts on video streaming and whether social distancing can work on a dancefloor.

In the doc, Blond:ish says: “It is unfortunate the situation that we are in but we adapt, that’s what we do, that’s our human nature. The question is, how are we adapting as a music industry? And, how are we going to come back and solidify a new sustainable foundation as an industry and be innovative for everyone else, to be an example?”
