A demo containing the earliest recorded versions of David Bowie’s ‘Starman’ will go up for public sale this week.
The demo recording was initially produced in 1971 by Bowie. NME studies the demo was initially given to Bowie's Spiders from Mars guitarist Mick Ronson, who later handed it on to Ronson’s buddy, Kevin Hutchinson.
The demo, which additionally accommodates variations of 'Moonage Daydream' and 'Hang Onto Yourself', was left in Hutchinson’s attic for years.
Hutchinson advised the Press Association: “Now I’m 65 and I performed it, I simply couldn’t imagine how good it's, however on the time, I assumed: ‘It’s not dangerous’. At 16 you’re not completely impressed, nothing impresses you.”
