Berlin’s famous Club der Visionaere has issued a shared an update about the state of the club after a fire tore through the riverside venue in the early morning on June 15.
At first, it was believed that most of the club had been completely burned out in the blaze, but in an Instagram video update hosted by resident DJ Mayaan Nidam, it was revealed that the main area and dancefloor are intact. The club will have to renovate the stairs that lead to the emergency exit and restroom area. It will also need to remove part of the club’s famous weeping willow before it can reopen but plans to do so soon.
Three injuries occurred during the blaze, but thankfully no deaths. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Club der Visionaere is a former boathouse turned small riverside nightclub that sits between Kreuzberg and Treptower Park in the German capital. It's most well known for its focus on laidback minimal electronic music and regularly hosts impromptu sets from many of Berlin's best DJs.
