A brand new documentary exploring Sydney’s flourishing feminine DJ community has been shared by 21-year-old filmmaker Jasmine Higgins.

Directed, produced, filmed and edited by Higgins, We Share The Language Of Rhythm focuses on the “evolution of the shut feminine DJ community in Sydney, on account of the obstacles offered by each the dying late night time music scene, and the inequality and underrepresentation on pageant/gig payments within the music trade.”

“I actually wished the documentary to disclose the exhausting work that goes on behind the scenes to create inclusive and various occasions for ladies and minorities,” says Higgins. Adding, “And give rising feminine DJs an opportunity to be impressed.”

It was introduced earlier this week that one other Sydney venue had fallen sufferer to town’s strict lockout legal guidelines, with iconic Kings Cross hotspot The World Bar now closed after 18 years of membership nights and dwell music occasions. Find out extra right here.
