The Essence of Bliss Burn 2026

The third annual Bliss Burn returned from March 19–23, 2026, to The Garden in Platanillo, Costa Rica. This intimate conscious campout prioritizes connection and co-creation over the sprawling, high-production spectacle often found at larger events. Nestled on 33 acres of lush mountain terrain along a flowing river, the venue creates an environment where paths naturally cross and coincidence feels like an intentional nudge from the universe.

By its third year, the festival has achieved a deliberate, fine-tuned rhythm. The property allows attendees to disperse across the landscape, yet the scale ensures that no one ever feels truly distant. It is a space designed for those seeking to step away from the traditional festival circuit and into something more grounded.

A Journey of Connection and Co-Creation

The spirit of the event was evident even before arrival. Whether it was the serendipitous encounters on the road to Platanillo or the shared willingness of the crowd to participate in the gathering's construction, Bliss Burn fosters a unique sense of community. Unlike larger EDM festivals, the smaller attendance numbers allow for deeper, more meaningful interactions. Faces become familiar, and conversations evolve rather than reset.

The theme for 2026, Cavalia Mágica, guided the weekend's flow. Attendees moved through the landscape with a sense of spontaneity, learning the layout by simply existing within it. The event serves as a temporary override of the standard "System," prioritizing human connection over transaction and expectation.

Sonic Landscapes and Artistic Expression

The music at Bliss Burn carried its own gravitational pull. The Bliss stage featured a lineup that felt like a summoning, with artists such as Shavalien opening the weekend with shamanic tribal sets. The Elev8 space provided a more dimensional experience, anchored by a unique sound system from Lantern Sound Design and surrounded by a village of tipis dedicated to workshops, breathwork, and movement practices.

Saturday saw standout performances from artists like Zach Walker, SWAYLÓ, and Sage Farris, while residents including Nacho DJ, Flip, Segatto, and RahQuel Star provided a consistent, homegrown authority to the soundscape. The musical curation felt like a conduit, pulling influences from Southern California and beyond into the heart of the Costa Rican jungle.

Living the Pura Vida

The philosophy of the event is deeply rooted in the local concept of Pura Vida. It is a lesson in accepting what is in front of you, finding joy in the present, and letting go of the rigid expectations of how an experience "should" unfold. Whether navigating the challenges of travel or participating in the communal art installations like Briana Hill and Armando Severiano’s "Held in Becoming," the festival encourages a surrender to the environment.

As the gathering continues to evolve, Bliss Burn remains a testament to the power of intentional community. It is not an event that wraps up with a clean, final punctuation; rather, it is a series of moments meant to be lived in pieces, leaving attendees with a lingering awareness of the connections made and the lessons learned along the way.
