As we reach the end of July 2024, I’ve carefully curated and condensed my list of the 15 best melodic house tracks that dropped this month. After sifting through endless amounts of music, one clear trend stood out: collaboration was the highlight this month. Many tracks involved duos, trios, or multiple artist projects coming together, resulting in high-quality music. The best melodic house music of July 2024 is exceptional, reflecting the vibrant creativity of the summer season.

So, let’s dive in. Follow the playlist below to quickly revisit these tracks and stay updated with our daily, weekly, and monthly selections of the best melodic house music.

Kora (CA), Mercan Dede, Dexter Crowe – Golconda (Halaken Soundsystem Remix)

Kora (CA) has been a long-time favorite Melodic House producer of mine. Almost every track he releases quickly finds a place in my library and record box. His latest track, “Golconda,” which he made alongside some other A-list industry talent Mercan Dede and Dexter Crowe, recently got a unique remix from Halaken Sound System. They added a clubbier vibe while maintaining the track’s textural richness and melodic focus. Since its release at the start of the month, I’ve had it on repeat, and it’s easily one of my top picks.

Bondo, Suite 52 – Nature of Life

My monthly chart roundups highlight A-list talent and incredible underground artists with smaller followings. Bondo and Suite 52 fit perfectly into the latter category. Despite their small following, they’re creating some of the best and most emotional piano-driven melodic house music. Their tracks feature a unique vocal sample that adds a haunting, human element and a fantastic piano chord progression.

The organic, found sound percussion gives it a rolling, earthy feel that resonates with me. I’m always happy to support artists like them in these roundups.

Flowers on Monday – Miharu

Flowers on Monday, a duo from the Black Forest area of Germany, create melodic house music deeply inspired by the natural world around them. They often use organic sounds and live instrumentation. Their latest track, “Miharu,” released last week on David Hohme’s Where The Heart Is, continues this rich sound palette.

There’s also a fantastic remix that I’ll discuss shortly, but this track stands out as one of the best releases this month, across all genres not just melodic house.

Flowers on Monday – Miharu (Gorge & Danjo (ITA))

Since Flowers on Monday’s original release and the remix package came out simultaneously, it was tough to decide which to highlight, so I decided to feature both. The Gorge and Danjo remix of “Miharu” is also a standout and easily one of the best tracks released this month. Gorge and Danjo are seasoned industry veterans, producing music for nearly three decades, and their expertise shines through in this remix.

Like the original, this track is also available on David Hohme’s label, Where the Heart Is.

Beije – Ecdysis (Discognition Remix)

Discognition is a rising star in the melodic house scene, with releases on top labels like Purified and Enormous. We’re thrilled to welcome him to Magnetic Magazine Recordings. He crafted a unique breakbeat remix of “Ecdysis,” the debut track on our label, giving it fresh energy. The remix retains the emotional depth and captivating arpeggiator line that made the original stand out.

Discognition is a fantastic addition to our community-focused label’s growing roster.

Logi B – Sequoia

While casually listening to music throughout the month—whether for DJ sets or promo mixtapes—I sometimes come across a track that truly amazes me. Often, these artists already have a strong following, but occasionally, a smaller artist stands out and surprises me with their talent.

Logi B and his track “Sequoia” are perfect examples of this. It’s surprising that he only has around six hundred monthly listeners on Spotify. If this track were released by a top label and played by big names in the melodic house scene, it would seem like a no-brainer. It’s exciting to discover and support such talent, and hopefully, this recognition helps bring the attention Logi B deserves.

“Sequoia” is a truly exceptional track.

Max Porcelli – Lotus

Like Gorge from Flowers on Monday and Danjo, Max Porcelli is another seasoned veteran with decades of experience in the industry. His catalog is impressive, with over seventy releases including originals, EPs, and remixes.

He’s a prolific producer, and we’re thrilled to have him join us at the record label. His track “Lotus” is a deep, groovy, daytime club roller, featuring melodic elements and uplifting atmospheres that draw you into its soundscape. It continues the momentum we’re building at Magnetic Magazine Recordings, a label focused on community and family.

Kimonos, Sounds Of Rituals, Kuuda – Alemagou

Kimonos is an LA-based duo I discovered this month, and I was surprised I hadn’t encountered them sooner. They have a massive following and have produced some of the biggest melodic house tracks, with millions of streams. Their track “Alemagou” is outstanding. It features light vocals that draw you into the track, supported by club-focused organic percussion and evolving melodies.

This collaboration showcases the strength of collective effort, Sounds Of Rituals and Kuuda bringing unique and captivating tastes and flourishes to the track. One of the biggest highlights of this month is discovering how talented Kimonos are.

Marcos Calegari – Runes (Brian David Remix)

Marcos Calegari has been catching my attention with his deep house style that incorporates lighter, club-oriented melodies.

His latest track, “Rune,” recently reworked by Brian David, stands out as one of the grooviest club records I’ve heard in a while. It features a dark, late-night progressive vibe with found-sound percussion and drifting melodies, which I love in melodic house tracks. Though it’s more on the club-focused, late-night end of the spectrum, its melodies and harmonies align well with the melodic house genre, earning it a well-deserved spot on this month’s list.

Kostakis – The Taking (Birds of Mind Remix)

This track has a unique quality that’s hard to pinpoint. It could be the cheeky, slow-attack lead that lingers in your mind or the haunting 80s-style vocals scattered throughout the arrangement. Birds of Mind’s remix of Kostakis’ “The Taking” is perfect for summer, and I regret not discovering it earlier. Its blend of old-school vibes, organic elements, and rich melodics ticks all the boxes I look for when curating lists like this.

It’s a track that I would have enjoyed having on repeat during earlier summer activities.

MANTi – My Way

MANTi, an LA-based producer, is making her debut on Henri’s label with a standout EP. It was tough to choose, but I picked the track “My Way” to highlight.

MANTi was recently featured in our “How It Was Made” series, where she shared the plugins she used and some high-level production tips for this track. “My Way” stands out as a groovier, more unconventional take on the melodic genres. It’s refreshing because, in these genres, tracks can often become formulaic. MANTi’s EP defies this trend, showcasing her skill and creativity in the studio.

Art Of Trance – Mariana (Original Mix)

Art of Trance is an industry veteran with a rich history of producing music under various aliases and projects. His latest track, “Mariana,” continues his strong legacy. The track is deep and groovy with a psychedelic twist, largely due to the way the bassline bends and glides between notes. It’s club-friendly without being overwhelming, featuring lighter, filtered leads that create a churning, cascading groove.

This keeps the track engaging without becoming tiring. It’s a masterful example of the genre, and I’ve had it on repeat since its release on July 12.

GHEIST – Auditorial

I’ve been a huge fan of the Berlin-based trio GHEIST for many years. They have a distinctive warm, analog sound that’s hard to achieve nowadays. Their music’s texture and sonic identity are as unique as their vocals. Geist has a long history of releasing tracks on top labels like Solomon’s Diynamic, Watergate Records, and many more.

Their latest vocal track continues this momentum. This summer has been filled with vocal tracks, and this one is perfect for playlists, DJ sets, and more.

Lorenzo Fassi – Lost Odyssey

Lorenzo Fassi is an emerging producer with a rapidly growing fan base across Central Europe. He’s gaining traction in cities like Milan, Athens, and more. His latest track, “Lost Odyssey,” released on GoDiva Records, showcases why he’s attracting so much attention.

While it’s one of the more club-oriented tracks on this melodic list, the soft and dreamy pianos and other melodic elements justify its inclusion. The main hook of the track comes from the rolling bassline, which, with its filter sweeps, drives the energy of the piece. The track has plenty of punchy moments that make it memorable, making it great for both casual listening and DJ sets.

LE YORA, SOMMA, JEWELS, YUMA, CHXRL – LIFETIME

This track took me by surprise. Initially, I wasn’t sure I’d like it, as the vocals seemed too emo and punk, and the instrumental was folky and minimal—elements I wouldn’t typically enjoy separately. However, combined, they create an emotional, moody, guitar-driven club record that’s incredibly infectious.

The unique collaboration of five artists on this track proves that the collective effort of LE YORA, SOMMA, JEWELS, YUMA, and CHXRL enhances the final product. It’s a standout track on this list, and kudos to everyone involved for creating something greater than the sum of its parts.

Mooglie, Betical, Emma Hoet – LAST

If we had a dedicated Best Synthwave Tracks of the Month list, Mooglie’s track “Last” would easily make the cut. However, since we don’t, it’s finding a place in the melodic charts. Despite its 70s and 80s-inspired sound palette, with heavy synthesizers and electric guitars, it has a strong melodic core.

Emma Hoet’s drifting vocals breathe life into the track. My favorite part is the drums—they’re warm, acoustic, and punchy, yet still tight, providing plenty of space in the mix for the softer melodic elements to shine. I’m definitely a newfound fan of Mooglie and plan to keep this track, along with more of his music, on repeat for the coming months.
