In keeping up with current music trends and working to better classify songs, has expanded its genres to include a new category.
As March 20, the music platform now includes a melodic house & techno category. Beatport added this genre to reflect the styles artists like , and . The content that falls under this new umbrella had previously been sorted into Beatport’s techno, deep house, tech house, and electronica genres.
“While Beatport’s main house and techno categories represent the biggest floor-filling tracks across the genres, melodic house & techno brings together a thriving sound that has not be easy to categorize as the lines blur between styles and sounds,” says Beatport label and artist relations director Jack Bridges.
Melodic house & techno is the latest genre addition since the platform .
