As the lockdown looks set to ease the UK is looking for ways to adapt to social distanced events. A company called Drive-In Events has set up a website and Facebook page advertising plans for “post lockdown car park events from drive-in cinemas to clubbing throughout the UK”.
DJ events dedicated to drum ‘n’ bass, house, techno and disco are promised, alongside effects such as LED video walls, live visuals, lights and laser shows, pyro cannons and fireworks.
Alongside raves there will be cinema and comedy events, with London, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Glasgow listed as host cities.

An event page states: “These events will only be held when it safe to do so - in line with advice of the Government and approval from local councils & authorities. The events will offer Drive-In: Cinema, Music & More all in safe, well organised and secure environments - ensuring people have access to entertainment while also adhering to social distance.”
No alcohol will be served. Attendees will not be allowed to leave their vehicles except for toilet breaks. Toilets will be available on site but for emergency use only. They will be disinfected after each use.
Ticket and line-up information is expected this week. Sign up here for further details.
