For SS19 Fred Perry and Margaret Howell bring us a collaboration designed to celebrate the two brands’ distinct aesthetics.

Inspired by to the very first tennis pieces from the depths of the Fred Perry archive, Margaret Howell’s monochrome, minimalist twist gives the traditional British heritage brand a contemporary rework.

Based on the iconic M3 Fred Perry shirt - an instantly recognisable polo across Fred Perry history - the shirt has been refreshed in a fine pique that replicates the original fabric from the 50s. Howell has also added an angled placket, with a lightweight fine ribbed collar and side splits finished with internal woven herringbone tape.

The bomber jacket, another iconic piece that started life on the court, is slightly oversized and has a dropped shoulder fine ribbed hem. Based on vintage Fred Perry tennis shorts, Howell also opted for a casual straight-leg trouser with an internal back pocket detail, (historically used in tennis for a coin or a locker key). Cotton canvas plimsolls complete the collection, a must in any tennis-inspired collection. Each piece in the collection is signed off with the original bespoke Laurel Wreath branding.

Available now, the collection is available from both the Fred Perry website and Margaret Howell.
