45 containers of donated bananas going to a jail in Texas had been discovered to hide almost $18 million price of cocaine.

According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, jail sergeants found the load after accumulating the donation from the Ports of America in Freeport.

The pair discovered packs of the substance hidden beneath bundles of bananas. Following an alert, U.S. Custom Officials uncovered 540 packages of cocaine.

Authorities haven't revealed the origin or meant recipient of the containers, however investigations at the moment are underway.

This is one among many circumstances involving cocaine smuggling banana transport containers. The Associated Press reported that in April, 9 tonnes of cocaine inside banana transport containers had been discovered by Spanish police.
