It is already our seventh edition of Magnetic’s melodic techno chart, where we select the top 15 tracks across this genre each month and dive into what we love about them, while sharing a look into the artist behind each song. There seems to be zero shortage of great melodic techno and progressive house nowadays, as this list was extremely difficult to narrow down.
Our favorite 15 includes anthems from melodic techno superstars like xxx, xxx, xxx, and xxx. However, this chart is never complete without a handful of mesmerizing tracks from underground and rising producers, such as xxx, xxx, xxx, and xxx. We also have a solid amount of melodic techno veterans on display for your sonic entertainment; check out our picks for July below.

Dosem, SOHMI – Answer [Anjunadeep]
Dosem teamed up with Korean-American artist SOHMI for this melodic gem, arriving alongside the announcement of Dosem’s new album, Desire. This LP will feature the likes of HANA and Carla Werner, including 12 tracks that are sure to be as similar sonic depth to “Answer,” which is somewhat of a callback to 90s progressive house. The track is layered with airy textures, calming atmospheres, and a bassline that makes it versatile for both dancefloors and casual listening.
Q.U.A.K.E, Eli & Dani – Embrace [Running Clouds]
Running Clouds has been known to feature some of the most talented producers across the melodic techno and progressive house space. That is why Q.U.A.K.E and Eli & Dani are solid matches for a collab on this imprint. Eli & Dani has released music with the top-tier artists such as Like Mike and Adam Sellouk; Q.U.A.K.E is a duo that has shared the stage with ARTBAT, Boris Brejcha, and Rafael Cerato, in addition to working with Stylo, Space Mation, David Lindmer, and more. With both projects having roots tied to Israel, one of the leading countries in the world for melodic techno, they take listeners on a high-energy journey with “Embrace.”
Tomy Wahl – Vagator [Movement Recordings]
Tomy Wahl is definitely an artist to have on your radar if you are a big fan of the progressive house and melodic techno scenes. “Vagator” shows why, layered with intense buildups and cutting-edge synths that feel like you are in a sonic time portal heading into the future. “Vagator” is paired with three other mesmerizing tracks in an EP, which encompass a remix by Tash, another Tomy Wahl anthem in “TrikMic,” and a remix of that as well by SEQU3L. My favorite part about this song is the little plucks that Wahl carefully places throughout it.
Aves Volare, donnerstag – Escape [Lelantus Records]
PACS, Who Else – SILENZIO [ERRORR]
When I saw that PACS and Who Else has joined forces on this track, there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to enjoy it. Both are highly respected rising artists in the melodic techno space, who have collaborated on “Disconnected,” one of the anthem’s from Simulate’s compilation that nearly landed a spot in May’s melodic techno chart. One component that makes this track special is the fact that it kicks off with stand-alone vocal chants in a foreign dialect. This immediately grabs your attention, while “SILENZIO” transitions into a driving bassline, powered by crisp percussion. The chants are reintroduced throughout this heater, and although I have no clue what they translate to, it is obvious they fit the song perfectly.
Jan Blomqvist, Rodriguez Jr. – Destination Lost (Arodes Remix) [Armada Music / Disconnected]
It really can’t better than this when looking at the stature of each artist involved on this track. Rodriguez Jr., Jan Blomqvist, and Arodes are all revered artists in their sectors of electronic music. Some may argue that this track leans much more towards melodic house, but it does contain elements of melodic techno as well. Nevertheless, it is simply too incredible not to feature in this month’s chart. The remix has stellar vocals and uses samples that are reminiscent of Rampa and &ME’s remix of “More Love.”
Passenger 10, Path Of Youth – Runaway [Enormous Tunes]
Passenger 10 centers his project around being a traveler, “a virtual globetrotter that has the abilities to travel through time and space.” If one thing is for certain, he definitely has the ability to take his audience on journeys through his music. “Runaway” is proof of this, as he unites with Path Of Youth to deliver a melting pot of interstellar effects, energetic basslines, and ethereal vocals.
Agents Of Time, Camden Cox – Vertigo [Tomorrowland Music]
A widely acclaimed Italian duo across melodic techno, Agents Of Time and Camden Cox make a lethal pairing in “Vertigo.” Released on Tomorrowland Music, you can easily picture Agents Of Time playing it at the globally recognized festival. It is a bit on the softer side when compared to the majority of Agents Of Time’s catalog, presenting a nice change of pace. Yet, per usual, the isolated synths pre-drop are captivating and the drop itself is full of energy. Camden’s powerful lyrics tie this whole piece together, making it primed to top electronic charts.
Hidden Empire – Oelfasslager [Ritter Butzke Records]
What initially drew me into Hidden Empire’s “Oelfasslager” is the visualizer for it, which is a mobile version of the artwork for the track for those who don’t use Spotify. The cans of radiation are constantly warping into one another and it truly feels like a great depiction of the atmosphere that the song creates. The different layers of synths, blend of techno and melodic techno, and extra-terrestrial-sounding samples seem to work together to bend the fabric of reality. Hidden Empire has built up an arsenal of bangers like this one since dropping their first few back in 2015; I am thrilled to see what they have in store for listeners throughout the rest of 2024.
Add-Us – All Over [Artisan]
From the minds of friends and fellow DJ-producer hybrids Robert and Patrick, Add-Us is an underground act that has been dropping a ton of spellbinding tracks this year. This duo’s style typically reflects strong techno lines and a mix of driving basses that will make your hairs stand straight up. “All Over” is part of a 3-track EP that does exactly this, complemented by “Confuse” and “Calling” that are worth diving into as well. When I hear the drop, I think of what you would get if you combined a bee hive with acid-esque techno.
Andrey Exx, TuraniQa – Touch Me (Hiwater Remix) [Exx Muzik]
Reinventing a classic is almost always a risky move. There is a lot of pressure not to be put to shame when compared to the original, and make sure to reinvent it in a way that does the OG artist justice. Andrey Exx and TuraniQa did a fantastic job with their cover of Diana Ross’s 1973 hit “Touch Me In the Morning.” Hiwater has now doubled down with this electrifying melodic techno remix of the pair’s rendition. The vocals meet the expectations to give a sense of nostalgia, but also line up extremely well with the modernized production that can be heard across this track. It is part of a five-song remix compilation with InfeXus radio and extended remixes, along with Andrey Exx and TuraniQa’s original.
Burko, Leo Wood, The Archer – Lonely Nights [Odd One Out]
Fueled by a hypnotic vocal lead, Burko and The Archer shape a powerful instrumental around it to make “Lonely Nights” a sonic adventure for listeners. Burko is a rising artist to stay on the lookout for. If you are a fan of these charts, you may remember his anthem “Sunrise Demon” from May’s edition. Debuting his project in 2021, The Archer has already made a substantial impact on progressive house and melodic techno, trailblazing the future of these genres with cutting-edge production.
Bigfett, Daivic – 4th Dimension [Radikon]
Breaking barriers in time with intense sequences of synths and plucks, Bigfett and Daivic’s “4th Dimension” is primed for giant warehouse raves and festival crowds. It has a cinematic feel to it, as its buildups rise higher and higher until reaching an electrifying climax when the drop enters the mix. Closing my eyes while listening to this track, I can visualize a future characterized by robotics and AI.
Solique – Ordinary Things [ICONYC]
Similar to “4th Dimension” in the level of energy that it transmits, Solique’s “Ordinary Things” is a melodic techno fever dream. It is difficult to describe why, but it is obvious that this tune would be an optimal peak set-time track. Adding even more of an infectious pull to the song, angelic vocals are layered with interstellar effects. The drums are really well arranged by Solique, to hit cleanly and at the exact times they should to make “Ordinary Things” feel as one collective soundwave.
Senses Of Mind – Never Ending Life [7Rituals]
Senses Of Mind, the duo of Kynan Nonneman and Miles Vanderlooven, have captivated audiences with their unique sound across labels like Steyoyoke, Untold Stories, and 7Rituals. Additionally, they have performed at iconic stages like Dour Festival and Fuse club. Heavily present throughout “Never Ending Life,” their music is a ritualistic celebration and immersive journey into sound. This track not only pushes creative boundaries through its melting pot of vocals and shifts in intensity, it also flooded me with a sense of confidence and strength with its energetic melodies.
