In a current interview with, West Coast hip-hop pioneer Ice-T introduced the launch of his model new music label, Electronic Beat Empire - an imprint which he has billed as "a critical techno label."

Teaming up with long-time good friend and collaborator Afrika Islam - former member of the enduring breakdance squad Rock Steady Crew and disciple of electro progenitor Afrika Bambaataa - the pair have launched the label's debut album, known as 'Hip Hop DJs Don’t Play Techno.'

Islam, who has taken the techno alias Mr. X, cites Kraftwerk, Larry Levan, Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills, Marshall Jefferson and extra as a few of his greatest inspirations. Having spent the final 15 years DJing raves and nightclubs in Germany, Mr. X appears to have his finger on the heart beat in terms of the present tendencies in each electro, techno and different types of digital music.

“I'm not gonna act like I’m a techno wizard or know something about it,” Ice-T tells. "We’re into the actual, uncooked creativity that’s on the market. When they got here with dubstep, that was an entire different a part of music. The portray is rarely full on the musical panorama, so let’s take it there with Electronic Beat Empire."
