The Bloody Beetroots at The Fonda, Los Angeles [Event Review]

Last weekend The Bloody Beetroots headed to Los Angeles to play a show and make sure their fans know they can still rock out hard. Fresh f their new album The Great Electronic Swindle, the gang was ready to take LA by storm. The show took place at The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. The Fonda is located right on Hollywood Boulevard and is truly a legendary music venue. Such acts as Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, Radiohead and others Icon Musicians have all graced this stage. But none which have had quite the same sound as The Bloody Beetroots.

We got there about 20 minutes before show time. When we arrived the opening act had just finished and the crowd seemed small. I started to get concerned, no love for The Bloody Beetroots anymore in LA? I had seen the guys perform many times in the past and the crowds were always large. I walked around to check out the venue, took in the beautiful view from the rotop bar, and then head down into the pit too take some photos. By the time I got into the pit, I turned to face the crowd, and it had quadrupled in size. The lights dimmed and like a pause in a breath, there was a second silence before a huge guitar chord blasted through the speakers. It was time.

Sir Bob led the crowd in with their new hit song My Name Is Thunder. Thunder was the perfect choice to get the party started. The band then went on to play some songs from their new album. The crowd jammed out to Saint Bass City Rockers, Wolfpack, My Name is Thunder, and some classics like Rocksteady, and Chronicles a Fallen Love. At one point Sir Bob dove f the stage into the crowd, created a huge circle, and started a wild moshpit with fans!

The gang played for well over an hour and it seemed the crowd never lost any stamina. The show had so much energy from start to finish. It’s always great to see one their live shows. With the piano, drums, guitars, and all the other instruments, it really creates a magical experience for the audience. An experience that is hard to recreate at a show with just a dj and a laptop. If you haven’t heard their new album, The Great Electronic Swindle yet, go give it a listen and check here to see if The Bloody Beetroots are playing near you!
