It has been almost ten years since Deadmau5 teamed up with Pendulum‘s Rob Swire. ‘Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff‘ is still one of the most iconic songs to come out of the U.S. dance music scene. But the impressive duo is back together on mau5ville: Level 1, the newest EP to drop on Mau5trap. In addition to ‘Monophobia,’ the Mau5’s collaboration with Swire, this EP features three other original tracks and a slew of remixes.
Besides ‘Monophobia’ Deadmau5 also includes another original, ‘Nyquist‘. Unlike it’s partner on the EP, this Mau5 track is more of a relaxed interlude than a dance floor track. However that fact doesn’t detract from the quality production on this experimental track that explores a different space in the auditory world. Add in ‘All is Lost‘ by Getter featuring nothing,nowhere and ‘Something Like‘ from GTA and this EP would already be a bombshell. But the Mau5trap team doesn’t stop there. With ‘Monophobia’ remixes by ATTLAS, Rinzen and Latroit plus an original extended mix and you’re left with mau5ville: Level 1.
